Kids Bathroom Decor
Decorating a kid’s bathroom the right way can seem a daunting task, but it can be done affordably and it’s easier and more fun when you get the whole family’s opinions and help involved. Matthew and his whole family came together to give the children’s bathroom an underwater theme – it was a fun family bonding experience and home decorating experience at the same time.
There is an item on the family to-do list that took years to get done. But when we finally got around to decorating the kid’s bathroom it was actually easier than we had thought. The family discussed what they would like to see done. We had outrageous suggestions but we ended up going with a subtle underwater theme that everyone seemed to be at least okay with. The family set a date on when to go to the home improvement store. When the day finally came around the house was buzzing. The trip was more of an adventure, as the kids were bringing back things they thought we were looking for, but we had to send them to put the items back half the time. The smallest of the bunch came back to get me, saying “Look at this, come here, look at this!” I followed relentlessly as he pulled me to the paint section of the store. He picked out a shade of blue that I fell in love with it automatically. The eldest came back with wallpaper featuring boats and I decided to let them choose. The total of everything was 600 dollars. When we got back to our home we cleaned out the bathroom. Then we commenced the decoration. We painted the walls a deep shade of blue with brushes we had bought. The wallpaper ran along the top of the wall and the ceiling was covered in clouds, which we painted with sponges. We glued wall stickers of fishes swimming around on the wall. The work was split up evenly amongst the family. The kids were in charge of the painting, wall stickers, and everything else. The adults were in charge of repairing the mistakes the kids had made. Amazingly, we finished the decorating all in one weekend. We decorated it wonderfully! Everyone was happy with the results, and the children in the house were very proud of themselves.
