Home Decorating Themes: One for Each Room?
Choosing home decorating themes for all of the rooms in your house can be a difficult task. Read about the themes that Janice picked for her house:
My living room is decorated black and white with colorful flower pictures as wall hangings. I recently got married and my photographer took a picture of my wedding flowers with our wedding rings centered in the middle. I had it blown up and I got it framed, which is the focal point when you walk into the living room. I have pictures on each side of my husband that I had purchased in black and white. It looks great because everything is black and white and then there is a beautiful picture of red daisies with our rings in the middle. Of course an added bonus is that it holds sentimental value. I had also purchased some other framed flower hangings from a local store that has affordable, nice-looking wall décor.
My bedroom doesn’t really have a theme but I suppose if someone would walk in, they would say I had a candle theme. I have candles everywhere. Most of them have never been lit; they would probably be a fire hazard! I am always purchasing candles and candle holders. Whenever I decide to use one, I take it out from my bedroom and use it in another room!
Next we have the bathroom. My theme in the bathroom is lighthouses. I don’t know where I got a thing for lighthouses but my shower curtain is a cute lighthouse curtain, the soap and toothbrush holders are lighthouses, and I have a toilet paper holder of a lighthouse. On the counter, I have a lighthouse that lights up. I get compliments on the bathroom all the time.
Last, but not least, we have our guest room. The guest room is mostly used by our friends and family so that is what the theme is. Everything in the room has something to do with our friends and family. It is very personal. I have pictures of our friends and family. I have purchased wall hangings with the words “Friends” and “Family” on them. I have photo albums out for our guests to look at of my friends and family. It is a great way for your guests to feel comfortable and a nice gesture to show friends and family how much they mean to you.
