Decorating A Bedroom

Project Runway can even be a great inspiration for a bedroom theme. Sandra was so inspired and created a black and white stripe theme that everyone thinks is great, even though it cost her under $400 to do it!

I decorated my bathroom with a black and white stripe theme that is truly beautiful and all my friends and family love it. I got my inspiration from one of the characters of Project Runway. I thought “Mila” had amazing style and that it was very similar to my own. First off, I taped diagonal strips onto my wall. You have to make sure they’re evenly spaced and use duct tape, because it’s wide. Once you have taped your walls, begin by painting everything black. Make sure you used lots of tape because you don’t want your whole house to look dark – you want more white left than black in the end. Once you’ve completed this task, remove the tape to reveal the left over white area on the wall. Next, go to Ikea and buy some simple couches and curtains that are black and white styled. These should be very easy to find. Now, get a nice shaded lamp with a dim light bulb. Once you’ve bought all the right accessories to your liking, simply arrange it however you wish. If you did it right, your room will look fantastic – trust me. If you think it looks too Zebra like, simply put up some primer and paint the entire thing white again, but this time buy only black furniture. I think it’s a really easy design, and it pops out because the lines create depth to the room. The total amount I spent was about 340 dollars if I recall correctly, which is nothing when you consider the furniture and the lamp along with the paint tools and the tape. You can also add grey shelves for a nice touch.
