Bathroom Remodel Design

A rich golden brown can be the ideal theme to add comfort, glow and class to a plain, boring, all-white bathroom. Barbara shares how she re-did her bathroom, including re-doing the tiles herself, all for an affordable rate – but it all looks elegant:

I recently got everything updated/upgraded in my bathroom. It was so long, lanky and boring looking I just had to decorate it to my style. I, myself, along with the help of a few family members and friends, decorated my bathroom. But I would like to tell you how it looked before I decided to decorate it. It was, of course, originally white and plain. It had the same old same old setting, no designs, and uncomfortable tiles to step on when you get out of the shower. So what I decided to do was to paint it another color of my liking and to pull up the tiles from the floor, which was easy because they were coming up, anyway. I decided to paint the bathroom brown, because brown is a very rich looking color and it even compliments itself by just saying it. I even switched the old broken tiles and replaced them with new top of the line golden brown tiles, which look very nice. I never thought it would turn out this well, but it was coming along nicely. My next task was to pull off the towel holders, which was challenging at first but when you really grip it, it comes off very easy. I got the replacements from a nearby Home Depot, and luckily they did not cost much – only $24.99 a piece – which was not bad compared the amount of tile we had to get, and compared to the paint, which was $19.95 per can. I am a very plain person, but also not a traditional person, which means I like to mix things up. We put the holders in and also got a new shower curtain and a shower mat that makes it more comfortable when standing in the shower. All in all my whole bathroom is now brown, my floor looks very elegant (golden-brown), and we now have sturdy towel holders. A very huge improvement from before!
